News The Hillary Support Thread!

Bernie as just another old white guy.
Perhaps.
However radical his ideas were, you still need to reach across party lines, as would Trump need to do - both are too extreme and would result in gridlock or watered down suggestions of camping promises...like, Trump might not get a wall, but he could get a speed bump. Ha! What a whack.

I searched for a Hillary tee shirt last night but stopped as I was finding tonnes of anti Hillary stuff which was disgusting------incredibly disrespectful.

So many products which call her a b-tch or a c-nt or call for her inprisonment. Lots of criticism for the clothing she wears. And somehow it hurts a little bit more when you see a panel of women on a talk show or even a news program who make such comments. I don't think we should support women simply because they are women (as there are bad women out there-----Hillary is not one of them though), but this type of criticism is just downright cruel. Hillary isn't perfect but the criticism she receives is WAY out of proportion to that which a man would receive for similar acts.

I feel like I've been living in a bubble!

Love these quotes:

I have asked (everyone) but have yet to receive a response about what she did that was SO wrong. Infractions that men in politics do on a regular basis are reasons for her to be tarred and feathered! It's nauseating.

I've experienced this in my small way at work. And unless we're conscious of it happening, women sometimes buy into the bias without realizing that it is indeed a bias. But even questioning misogynistic attitudes can seem radical to those who are guilty of it as Bloom said:

Feminism is simply the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. Now, plenty of sexist people have put their own definitions on the word to make people think otherwise, but it is simply a belief in equality of opportunity and justice for all genders. Once I learned what the definition was, I realized I was greatly misinformed and I regret the times in my 20's when I said I wasn't a feminist. Why the hell wouldn't I be? I'm a woman!

Congress investigated Hillary 9 times for Benghazi, and in at least some of those times, there were Republican congressmen who admitted that these investigations were really set up to find dirt on Hillary. Nonetheless, she was found NOT responsible for the tragedies there. 9 times she was found not responsible. And the republicans are still accusing her. Sheesh! Yes:

Hillary isn't perfect but the criticism she receives is WAY out of proportion to that which a man would receive for similar acts.

I am so convinced that Hillary haters have mommy issues. The only way I can explain the level of animosity is to interpret the anger as "protest behaviors" (as in Heller's Healing Developmental Trauma) for not getting what they needed as children.

Loving watching this from the uk, altho only real cable options are Fox news and CNN for the most...

Missycat, I highly recommend watching MSNBC online. You can catch clips from the various political shows. My favorite is Rachel Maddow. She's extremely smart and kind-hearted and incisive, but also manages to make you often smile at the same time. She's top-notch. Lawrence O'Donnell is also excellent. And Chris Hayes.

Okay, sorry guys, just had to let Missycat know (as well as anyone who might not get MSNBC).

Back to Hillary :).

On the msnbc bit-------nighttime msnbc programs seem to be a bit more Hillary-friendly than the morning and afternoon programs. (But maybe that's just me.)

The evening shows are by Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell, Chris Hayes, and lesser Hillary friendly IMHO ----Chris Matthews (I think he was the one caught saying not so good things about a woman when he had a hot mic----please correct me if I'm wrong.) I watch the evening shows usually, and sometimes Morning Joe which tries to be balanced (IMHO from my limited viewing).

Last night's Rachel Maddow Show bit about the chicken at George HW Bush rallies in 1992 (when he ran against Bill and was trying to weasel out of debating) was hilarious. I can SO see the chicken coming back for Hillary as it seems that Trump may be positioning himself to not attend the debates. I REALLY want to see debates and I think that much of the American public wants to see debates, too. Hillary is an excellent speaker and can handle herself in debates. I think a head to head debate is a great way to see how candidates differ and clear up possible misconceptions. Fingers crossed we get some debating! But thinking ahead-------I doubt a guy/woman in a chicken suit would even be allowed in the doors of a trump rally!

GO HILLARY! (Lol, just had to add this bit at the end ;))

Fox "newz" has an entertainment license, but not a news license, and that is for good reason. They rarely report facts. They promote xenophobia, racism, and sexism. Their network is garbage and the men on there tend to be narcissists with backgrounds which include rape, domestic violence, abuse of children, sex tourism, racketeering, theft...several of the "experts" they've had on over the years are now in prison for their crimes.

Yet people still watch them. It's insane.

There is so much to love about Hillary that pundits of course never point out, and she has never been one to toot her own horn. But her work to ensure that differently abled children have a legally protected right to the same public educational opportunities as all children is something that has benefited us all. Schools are more accessible, bathrooms are more accessible, online and public resources to help parents in even the most remote areas all stem from that work she did in the 70's.

There are so many on this forum bashing her who have directly benefitted from her work that I have lost respect for several of them. Her work in the 90's on the ACA laid the groundwork to ensure that our employers and insurance companies cannot fire or drop us for our PTSD diagnosis. That's an incredible impact. The entire republican party has done NOTHING to help those of us with PTSD. NOTHING. NADA. Why in the hell would someone with PTSD vote for ANY republican?

Hillary was very pivotal in getting the parity act passed as part of the ACA, which forces insurance companies to NOT charge us more for mental health care visits than regular visits, and also prevents insurance companies from limiting our sessions. Yes, we're still fighting the insurance companies to comply, but I don't have to pay the "specialist" visit fee which is $20 more per month. That has directly affected my quality of life for the better.

Hillary has helped me, helped my family, and helped my community. The GOP has not accomplished a SINGLE THING that has helped me in the past 14 years. But they have blocked things which would have helped me. They have passed things that directly harm me and my family. I'll never ever vote for a republican candidate.

I actually lean more toward Hillary, but none of my friends or family support her. Most of them are not in favor of trump either. I have often thought when Bill Clinton was in office (politically) things ran relatively smooth as opposed to all thats happened since. I have always believed in a big way that although Hillary was "first lady", a lot of credit should go to her. She has already had presidential experience like no other candidate to date (IMO). Her voice is triggering to me, but that's my issue, not affecting the entire U.S. population. I liked Sarah Palin (Don't hate me)... But given the choices we are going to have this time I will most likely vote for Hillary Clinton in this upcoming Presidential election. I do believe she is the most qualified, not only that....what would happen to those of us on disability if Donald duck...i mean Donald Trump were the president? !?! Let's not think about that.

The very fact that republicans want to take away ALL protections for us under the ADA and the ACA makes a vote for them a vote against our own self-interests and health. I can't imagine at all why those of us with this disability would support those who don't think we deserve help for it.

A woman running for president has brought out the mean-girl syndrome in many otherwise nice people, and it's both shocking and sad.
