Treatment Centers?

So my anxiety has been getting progressively worse over the past few months, even though I'm on medication.

So many things trigger me and render me useless for the rest of the day. I can't even think of getting a job, or how I'm going to keep on top of my bills and just need to be taken care of for a while.

Which brings me to my question: has anyone been to an in-patient "treatment centers, NOT a hospital? Something covered by health insurance? If yes, how was it? Was it beneficial? How long were you there? Are you allowed to leave early if you want?

Thanks :)

No treatment center can legally keep you if you're not a harm to yourself or others. So yes, you will be able to leave early. In a hospital it can be called AMA for against medical advice, but I'm not sure if that term is used in a treatment center. (Advice given for the USA. You don't state where you live.)

Other than that, I don't have advice on treatment centers covered by insurance. I was in a trauma hospital twice and a self-pay treatment program once. I'm sure others have advice on good treatment centers.

I know they have them here in the state where I live for trauma and PTSD. I was thinking about it. I'm pretty sure insurance would cover it since it is listed on health insurance plans for mental health under the new ACA laws.

I'm glad someone posted about this. I'm curious to see responses from people who have done it for PTSD.

By the way, I know how you're feeling right now. I am in the same place. (((Smile)))

@StrongerNow, thanks :) yes, I'm also hoping someone here has some personal knowledge

Me too, something like that would be interesting to get insight on! A treatment center for PTSD- wonder how that would function and what types of help they would provide. If anyone knows, post it! I'm up in Maine, USA.

I did a partial inpatient program that insurance did cover. Partial inpatient means going through the program during the day/afternoon then going home at night. I have nothing but gratitude for the program and the people running it.

I can't speak to the quality of the programs in your area of the country, but other people probably could. If you have a t, or a regular doctor you can probably get good advice on whether such a program could help and which one(s) are the best in your area. If nothing else, Google can be your friend to find out what options you have.

Wishing the best for you

Thats true. I'm hoping to find more of a support group-type thing to go to instead of a partial inpatient thing. I'll keep poking around. Thanks!

I'll check. Not sure about doing a partial inpatient- I'm holding down a job (but just had a doozy of a set back- last weekend was not fun. at. all.) my therapist hasn't mentioned anything about it.. I'll ask her and see if she's aware.
