:wtf: I really hate that show.
I love the genre, but I wish Marvel would stick to film (and cartoons) & DC to television. DC has really complex characters that need the reeeeally long story arc -and depth of character development- that TV allows for; meanwhile Marvel is all about monumental-crisis, that is perfect for 1-2hr story telling. I think Legion could have been a phenom film, but in TV they're doing almost complete arcs for each episode. It's not fluid. Mental/Emotional motion-sickness. The characters are the crisis, not themselves, so there's no "them", just what's happening around them. It works in film, because no matter how shallow or complex the character, you drop a fully formed person into a crisis, and you get to know them that way. The momentary glimpses into their lives outside of crisis paint a rich and vibrant background to both their lives and themselves. Crisis hopping for character development? Added to near-complete story arcs per episode? Motion sickness x2. It's like they took a movie script, gave each scene it's own episode, streeeeeetched it out to an eye crossing arc unto itself, and then couldn't decide how to progress from one arc to the next. So sorta kinda just left each arc almost but not quite finished. The whole show just leaves me feeling hungover.
And I looooove XMen! XMen by Marvel & Arrow by DC are my two hands down fav comics of all time. (Deadpool is in a class by himself). So it was super disappointing. Grumble grumble grumble.
