I have very bad PTSD. I have a vice on my heart. I feel my life is completely ruined. The PTSD symptoms are eating me alive. What should I do? My brain is in so much pain.

Hi lotsofpain

Welcome to the forum.

There are so many members on here who will understand your "My brain is in so much pain" statement. For now I suggest you take everything very slowly and start by just reading, just to see what we can offer you in the way of help, support and advice. When you feel ready, you can write more of your story, but there is no rush for that.

Just you being here means you are looking for answers to so may questions that all sufferers want answering. We cannot answer them all, some of them yes, but we can offer you a lot of other things including support and understanding aswell as ways to help relieve some of the symptoms of ptsd.

Good luck and take care.

Glad you found the forum!

You are in the right place for pain and PTSD. Reaching out is hard, but the payoff is fantastic.

Look around the forum and read up on questions you may have. As you get to know the forum, you will find posts and threads that can answer things from others who share symptoms.

This is, in my opinion, a place of hope and healing.
See ya around...suzie q

Hi Lotsofpain,

Welcome. No life is completely ruined while we draw breath. I am sorry you are in so much pain.

This forum is a great place to find support and care and information about PTSD. I hope that as you get to know us and share with us the vice on your heart will not be as strong.

Take care
Tessa

Hello lotsofpain,

Your username tells it all and yes mental pain is the most costing because no painkiller would assuage it and all we can do is feel it, let it be. It is so much that even normal words cannot make justice to the crude reality that we feel and that's why people who are in mental pain (which includes myself) often use images and metaphors in their writings because it makes more justice to describe the pain itself than dead descriptions.

So I understand perfectly what you mean by "The PTSD symptoms are eating me alive"

Glad you are here because at least you will read from other people with the same suffering you endure so you will SEE that you are not alone and this perhaps willl pour into your soul some strength and peace.

Hello and welcome Lotsofpain. I am so sorry that you are feeling so badly right now, but it doesn't mean you will feel like that forever. This is such a great place with lots of wonderful people and great information. Just know you aren't alone and there are people who care.

Hello and welcome;

I understand where you are at too. It does get better with a good therapist and good people in your life who are willing to be supportive.

You can recover from the pain you are in with lots of doses of love and support.

Hang around here.

Thank you very much. That means a lot to me. I was considering starting a PTSD support group in my area (Los Angeles). I go to the BiPolar support groups but there really isn't one for PTSD. Do you guys think it would be wise to start it.

Thank you all by the way. How sweet you all are.

Thank you very much. I to to a trauma therapist once a week and a bipolar psychiatrist also once a week. This disease is so harsh that even after years of therapy (years with others only 6 months with these new ones, I've only started trauma therapy this year), there is no respite. At least I realized two years ago what it is I have because I read the PTSD Source Book. For 10 years I didn't even know I had PTSD.

I was attempting to thank everyone but it came out wrong, so I will just post here how much it means that you people know and care.

Lots of love,

Pain

Hey,

Take your time and explore this site because it is full of ressources, ideas, experiences and even humour. Often when we find ourselves in a black hole we just forget about our habilities to heal, simple actions we could take to feel better and even get out of it.

And this site is perhaps just that. A Reminder of what you could do, think of and realize by yourself to feel better, based not on mere theory but on personal experiences of others who had been in the same situation you're in now.
