Purely informational, to help some understand some of the blocks I've put in place at the server to stop all the nasty rubbish from accessing the site, and really just skewing actual humans online stats. I had to pull the temp disable the blocking scripts to do some tests, and we ended up with this many online and the logs showed just rubbish traffic:
When I reenabled the scripts to block excessively all the rubbish bots and nonsense traffic we tolerated before, but since stepping it up further to really get down to just actual human device traffic, we get:
This, IMO, should help members understand the real humans online at a given time, whilst adding an additional layer we didn't use before, relying on other methods after the fact, where as now I'm flipping it to just be super aggressive from anyone but actual human behaviour - 95% accuracy - being at the site. There is always a small percentage of wriggle room with most things in life, especially online. But getting human detection to this level... shit, I'm impressed with it.
