We just suffered through a Federal election where everyone pretty much hated both the alternatives. Now we're stuck with a government who holds the slimmest majority possible in the House of Reps and an unwieldy Senate where some pretty fringe parties have far too much influence.

Gotta agree with Churchill - Democracy is the worst political system ever - apart from every other system people have tried.
