What Are You Grateful For Today?

I make the hula hoops out of the black pvc poly tubing stuff that you use for outdoor fountains and such, @Muttly ,so I like to wrap it with different colors of electrical tape to make them a little more festive and fun. I order the child-sized hoops and they come in rainbow colors of poly pro tubing, so I'll add tape to them, too, to kick up the colors schemes yet another notch.

I choose electrical tape because it's shiny-ish and is easy to work with as far as getting the kinks out while wrapping. Duct tape gets sticky and picks up and holds onto dirt like crazy over time and is way too thick to wrap it easily, although they have small thinner decorative options nowadays. Gaffer tape is suggested as the best option for it's gripping qualities, but I haven't tried it yet. Thanks for asking! :)

I thought I'd take a moment and say I appreciate all of you and this forum to come and read all the horrible stuff people have been through and write some stuff and kid around a little and get up and get down. It has helped me a lot and I look forward to it and I guess it's grounding for me whatever that means. I like to put in my 2 cents where I can and it sorts out what I'm thinking somehow. I like that you can't just talk smack at people and not get challenged and I like that there are "rules of engagement " because I need that structure in the Wild West of the online environment. I'm "up sh*t kreek without a paddle" right now and I like having a place I can go that's as close as my phone. I don't usually last anywhere but somehow I've been here awhile and I appreciate it and writing is a skill and it's good practice. It makes me actually have to think. Thinking is good. Being careful and mindful is good. Laughing is good. Sincerely.

The reason I follow you, @Mach123 not as in 'stalking',:)laugh:) but as in reading about your life, is your honesty. I think I said that somewhere at the beginning of your diary. You make it ok for all of us, not just men, to feel our own truth. When we are scared, or whiny, or just plain ol' exhausted. Or happy , or silly, or, ya know, being human. So thank you for being here. You are shining a light, it helps all of us, as most of us are afraid of the dark. That's what honesty is, a light. And I appreciate that about you.. So , Shine on Mach!! Friend :hug::hug::hug:'s

So, I'm grateful for all of us taking risks to be heard and heal.. There is so much positive power here, just for us.

Grateful for those who make it a point to take time to teach and share their talents/knowledge/experiences with others. Yesterday, I began my American Sign Language adventure where I'll hopefully absorb the lessons and increase my existing knowledge in that arena. I remain amazed at how many extra words we use while speaking verbally that are totally not necessary. Here's some words/signs shared in my first lesson:

Incredibly grateful to be able to forage for, purposely plant, grow, pick, and dig things out of our own backyard that sell for high dollar in the stores. Granted, there's work involved and much awareness and patience is required....all of which I greatly struggle with some days more than others (which is one of the many areas the hubby helps save the day), but the rewards and benefits of doing so thankfully still outweigh the sorrows and grief. (knock on wood)
