What Comforts You On Your Hardest Days?

Wow ... everyone sounds so healthy. On a bad day with PTSD, I have trouble leaving the house because of the struggle with dissociation. I self-isolate, and don't want to see anyone. Even if I call a friend, it's hard to talk because of the dissociation, which scares me. It comforts me to be on the couch, under a blanket. It comforts me to imagine being in my safe place. It comforts me to have my stuffed lion next to me. It comforts me to drink a cup of tea. It comforts me to remember that I am neither bad nor good, I am just me.

My dog, or thinking about and looking for a new puppy to get too.

Calling family or friends and just talking about normal stuff. During a break up someone recommended anytime I wanted to call my ex to call someone else, most likely after 20 mins of talking to someone else you've come up with things to do or other things occupy your mind. Not always the case with ptsd- but worth a shot.

Call a counseling hotline.

Chocolate and comfort movies:)

...online shopping:rolleyes:

The simple things like surrounding myself with nature-it is such a great comforter and teacher. Experiencing unconditional love-such as from a pet, looking at small kids playing happily without a care in the world. All these things remind me that there is still a lot of good going on too
