To me it means absolutley nothing because I only see bad, evil and decent in humanity. A lot of days even those three seem useless being apart of an oppressed group. The matter of survival seems more important because there's a lot of judge, juries and executioners running the streets. The older I get, the less I'm focused on perceptions in society because the political climate makes that stressful. I just want a peaceful life and give people who enter it a peaceful one too.

I think if you have a pet or an animal that you care about then you are a good person.

I believe there was only ever ONE perfectly good person who lived on this earth. His name is Jesus. I say IS because He is still alive in Heaven now.
There are a lot of folks who do good things and there are a lot of folks who don't.
Myself, I try to do good things, but I have made mistakes, I have done wrong in my life. I have also done a lot of good things. I think I am just a regular person. I am human.
That is not to say that you are a bad person either. Since you feel you are a good person, you should try to continue to be one. I will try too! I think we all should do the best at it that we can. Life is tough though, and sometimes you run into someone that just makes your blood boil!!! LOL... I laugh now, because I am over it. But when it was happening, ooooh! Was I mad!!! I think anger has its place, though, really. Sometimes you just have to tell someone off! I did once not that long ago. The person is still abrasive, but is more behind the scenes and discreet about it than before. I figure I accomplished something for all of us who have to deal with that person.
Life goes on. I don't even think that person is bad. I just think that person was annoying. Some people are.
On the other hand, I have met some really nice people too. Ones that most folks would consider to be "good people." I like being around those types of folks. They make me feel good and cared about and loved. They are kind and gentle and they treat me with respect. If I were to call anyone "good" it would be this type of person.

My my, I am not even starting on the line of pricks I knew that so did not hesitate hurting people left and right, but would kill for a dog being happy.

I've had to ask myself this same question and I came up with this: I narrowed being "good" as having integrity-you know being honest, fair, trustworthy and loyal to those I care about and myself. I try to do keep with these behaviors.........they are a goal....not an absolute. Being human means I might not always make these 100%, but they are valued in my decision-making process.

Well, I've experienced this...w my X, only he'd insure the cat ranked higher than me.....that cat was # 2 on his love list...he was #1.
I agree Ronin and Bkinder-people can be good in one area and A holes in another. Sociopaths can appear to be the kindest people you would ever meet because they know what is expected, yet they can be absolutely the cruelest if you are part of their life. I know a sociopathic therapist that appeared to be such a nice guy, but with certain clients, he used their information to stalk them on line pretending to be their ex.

Charismatic - many charismatic sociopaths are charismatic I think. Been my experience anyway.
