The misses has seen an add in the paper.

Some old german guy is selling his collection of Brit Army memorabilia.

Not only one of the last SIII 88" in top condition but also the two follow vehicles still in Green and not riden since release (not pics of the actual machines)

What I learnt to ride on while in Training (Jr Ldrs had something going for it). The Can am 250cc

And the notorious Armstrong 500cc, on which I had many memorable rides as "Dispatch", being 1 of only 2 guys who had bike licenses in a sect 26 strong.

Christmas Standdown 1989. Last job of the day was a Priority Red Run before I could go on leave. It was f*cking freezing, had to go from 4 Armd Wksp in Detmold to CDP3 in Bielefeld, a ride of 32kms oneway. -7 degreesC, ankle deep snow, with just Highlegs, Lightweights, Jumper and Combat Jacket, paddy bashers and the usual Piss pot with no Visor. ( and all because the bastards in MT and QM`s had allready knocked off and I couldn`t get my usual bike kit.)

I swear to this day, that some where on the B66 are my frozen bollocks!

Any way, the misses is planing on getting me one of them.

I like the 250. Reminds of the Honda Elsinore 250cc I had when I was a kid on the farm. By all rights I should have died on that thing.

Angle! How cool. Reminds me of the crated up WW II Harleys we used to hear of eons ago. You gonna run spike tyres on the ice? My landlord in Germany rode his BMW damn near every day. Enjoy your new toy!

1996 Honda Shadow Spirit. 1100cc. Got a top speed but I ain't got the guts to take her there. Just got a lowering kit to get the back down 2 inches. One of these days, gonna throw a couple of changes of underware in the bags get on her and don't stop riding until I die or don't want to ride any more.

It's mushy, and I'm embarrassed that it gets to me like this.

But waking up to or getting the daily "Good morning, love" from my husband while he's six time zones away. (Because I totally sleep well into the afternoon if I'm on break.)

Having lunch with an old, dear friend, in a historic old Flagstaff hotel and talking about the "good old days". Coming home to bright eyes and wagging tail. Passing by my rolling English legend on the way to the door. Turning on my computer and joining my Brothers and Sisters on the net. What more might a man expect from a day?

Makes me think of my days at Ft. Huachuca

My wife's been 3 and a half years clear of cancer. Her one kidney, lost the other to cancer, is functioning better than both of mine. It's a happy milestone for us. Makes me happy today.
