Childhood When No Parent Is Available

I had a pillow that I dragged around constantly and took everywhere with me. When I touch something that feels similar, it's still soothing and calming. I had an imaginary friend as well. His name was Skipper.
And as long as I can remember I felt a special connection with dogs. Especially with abused dogs. I still consider my dog my confidant and best friend.
Growing up I never trusted any adult. Today I still feel the same distrust towards people who are in a powerful position or high up in some sort of a hierarchy. Wether it's police, my boss or something like that.
I'm in a relatively stable relationship though.

Animals - in a mutually understanding, protective, loving, open-hearted, communicating, powerful way.
Pets especially, but wildlife too.

This past week I rescued a skunk that had her head stuck in a jar (amazing, sweet, responsive creature who did not spray me); and a tree frog whose cries for help I responded to - and he to me - dragging himself painfully, heroically through the grass to reach me as I called to him, until I could see him and free him from a snake's jaws.

Animals are my family...
