I took Shotokan Karate (full contact, no protection) and Judo under Japanese instructors,

Reach out & break someone :sneaky:

Kintsugi is the Japanese art form where you repair broken ceramic with molten gold. Its flaws are seen...

My parents have a ceramic horse from Hong Kong that I immediately broke as a toddler when they brought it home to Tokyo. From that day onward it’s been known as “The (first) horse Friday broke!” I get it in the Will :D My mom was never of the opinion that kids were why she couldn’t have nice things... She was of the opinion that Super Glue should be bought in bulk! (There. All better.) Repairing it with gold has been on my list of things to do now, for about 20 years. It will happen. Someday. Maybe.

It’s a gorgeous artform.

People tell me that I have a big heart and I have had to have a lot of courage to face the darkness of past abuse traumas, so I opted for Lionheart. The 777 is a religious reference to the creator and represents the threefold perfection of the holy trinity, because without faith in a higher power, I would not be here to tell my story.

lostforgottensoul...I can tell you you are not really a forgotten soul. Though we are thinking we are in the dark, so to speak, there is always someone who has not forgotten us. Our isolations keep us from knowing this assurance. And if you are a person of faith, you have a Creator who has not forgotten you. I am glad you shared. If you were close to my area of the world, I would come take you to coffee or bring you some if going out is too stressful. :)

Because "Hodge" was the name of Samuel Johnson's beloved cat. He lived in the 18th century in England but he seemed to have a very modern sensibility about having a furbaby. We even named one of our cats after his; my avatar is my painting of our Hodge. Yeah, I'm a literary wonk and animal lover.
