Why Is Australia In Eurovision?

What is Eurovision and why isn't Australia a completely independent nation?

I dont think anybody really knows the answer to that question

We've had the odd vote to become independent over the years and it just never seems to come to pass.

Somebody older with more understanding of it may have an answer, but no one I know.

I dont think they pay for us anymore?

I don't really watch it anyways, but I totally lost all desire to watch it after the (was it the last one?) with the German bearded lady.

Don't get me wrong, I have zero problem with a trans contestant. Nor do I agree with the Russian governments stance on the issue.

I do however have a problem with a show that is supposed to be a singing competition being turned into a huge platform for political correctness grandstanding.
