I have already sent an Email to one of them. She is a Psychotherapist who also deals with PTSD and is more specialized. This is what she specializes in:

• Sexual abuse trauma
• PTSD
• Grief
• Childhood sexual abuse
• Depression and anxiety
• Eating disorders
• Communication skills
• Relationship issues
• Alcohol and drug issues

Well, I am going to send emails to all the ones in Auckland that I think can help me. I don't care how far I have to travel now because I have my full license and I really need professional help. I am stuck at the same point as I was last year and with this counselor, my antidepressants dose has doubled :(. I'm on 150 mg Venlafaxine dose a day Plus 7 other supplements. It's just too much. I need a cure not her bloody candles!!!!

She gave me a brochure and website for her candles.

This would make me disappointed. If some therapist did this to me, I would quit them right away.

This is like she is in therapy to have more benefits for herself and very less about you.

I wish you good luck in finding a good and right one therapist for you.

My T only tells me to change each negative thought to two positive ones

I have no acceptable words to express my disgust with your T. I'm feeling very positive at the moment, but I couldn't manage to do that, and in failing I'd be running the risk of getting negative.

asked her about specific techniques and she just ignores them telling me that they are just fancy names given and you can Google this information yourself.

in other words she can't tell you the basis of any of those techniques
incidentally, you can indeed googl;e them and get better info than she has been paid to provide you with.

Incidentally, about 15 years ago I did some engineering work at a site belonging to one of the big pharma crony crapitalist companies.
It was one of those sites where you wasted half a day or more on a ridiculus site induction, which included what to do if there were protestors at the gate.

This woman sounds like an idiot, TBH.

Oh, I'll become a therapist....and then I'll force my side business on my clients because yeah, selling stupid candles is just as important as life issues... Ok, I'm so damn tired right now that this didn't come across right. But yeah, CANDLES!?!?!

Is it like Scentsy? Its a MLM (multi-level marketing) sales scheme where a parent company gets its sales people to force (yes, force) their product on "friends" via parties, and now personal websites. I don't know if this is prevalent around the world.....Think Avon, Pampered Chef, Silpada (jewelry), Tupperware, Longaberger Baskets, etc. I refuse to buy from these companies and I refuse to go to "parties" that people throw. I think its ridiculous that someone would risk a friendship by throwing a "party" where people feel pressured to buy overpriced crap. Sorry for the tangent rant, but yeah, highly inappropriate for her to be forcing this stuff on you!

Yup it's Scentsy that she was promoting. She was telling me about their history how it started by this family (i think American ). I am seeing her for the last time next Saturday and tell her what i feel and see if she can help or just wasting my time.

Ahhh, yes, those companies seem to brainwash their "dealers" into having this unhealthy devotion to the parent company. That's how they get sales.....have overly enthusiastic people selling their products so that they can convince others that the high price tag is worth it. Its sort of creepy! Its how MLM works....and I've seen this sort of behavior across different MLM companies.

But, back to the main issue.... Its quite unethical for her to be forcing her side business on you. It is an unbalanced relationship. Some clients may indeed feel pressured into buying in order to ensure that their therapist continues to like them.

Do you have a governing body for therapists in NZ? I don't think this is ethical, and if in the US, I would be reporting this therapist.
