I would not assume (as others seem to assume ) that this would involve a full-scale thermonuclear exchange.
It kind of defeats the point of taking territory when that territory's hotter than Chernobyl and you can't even extract oil from it safely, right? Much less water or crops or taxes. Nobody besides DAESH and Christian millenialists want the nukes out.
...It would involve serious and repeated disruption of the Internet and satellite systems, as well as financial maneuvers designed to break the combatants.

And hundreds of millions would die just from economic disruption alone, never mind the actual fighting...

But chances are? It will be more proxy warfare.
