I'm just reducing portion sizes and cutting out alcohol during the week.

H makes his own wine and seeing the amount of sugar being used sort of makes it hit home. In a 5 gallon batch he made recently, he used 3kg of sugar:eek:.

I haven't banned any food item, including chocolate but I am very conscious of how much I eat and keep it low. Bread isn't an issue as I don't eat a lot of it and most of that is home made granary style.

9 times out of 10 we cook from scratch using fresh produce (we always have) with a take away maybe twice a month.

I'm also walking the dogs at least 5 times a week for about 20 - 30 minutes.
 
I definitely think it is a control issue. Like it was the one thing we could control. I think that is the one thing about my physical illness, I can not control it. Because I am unable to exercise consistently without some negative effect it has been very difficult. I can control my eating to next to nothing and only healthy, but if you can't get any exercise it really bites(no pun intended). I don't think going from my late thirties to forties helped any either. :wideeyed:

When I was a younger adult it seemed that I could go without one meal and lose ten pounds. Now I go without a meal and I seem to gain ten lbs. :confused:

I'm hoping to get my meds in order, already told them not to give me any that contribute to weight gain. I'm heavy enough and don't need anything more to fight with. I'm hoping for more energy and desire to go out so that on my good physical days I can actually do something!
