For Christmas and I'm nervous as all get out. I'm considering cancelling. Is that standard?

It's going to be pretty freaking crowded. Ugh.

We've been down there several times but usually during slow times. Not this time.

I don't know if it's standard, but I experience it a lot. Don't mind the traveling, it's the getting there and dealing with people part. LOL But, it usually turns out to be find, once I'm there.

I completely understand. I leave tomorrow and have been freaking out for a week already. Talked to Pdoc last weekend about increasing anxiety meds to get me through the roughly 4 days I will be with family and traveling. I generally don't have an issue with travel but I haven't seen the majority of my extended family in over 2 years. It is generally a dysfunctional environment and I have been getting a lot of pressure from my family on what to do, when to be where, who I have to spend time with etc. And it is the first time in over a decade that I will be spending time with family sober. Terrified that it will go awry.

Do you have any plans to get away from the crowds? Even to go spend time in a quiet bookstore... that helps me navigate big cities which can get crowded and very overwhelming. Take breaks and make plans to get out of the crowds.

We are going to Gatlinburg and it is crowded this time of year but hopefully most will stay in town while we hit the mountains.

It's not as bad as I thought. The main crowds are in downtown Gatlinburg so we are staying in the smokies and around pigeon forge. And the hiking has been nice.
