The height of my nearly daily cutting all up and down the inside of the forearms (both) was in 2003; would place towels on each side of chair and just cut until I could feel something, anything. Haven't cut since 2003, @Junie-pie. Realized way down the road in recovery (still) that my cutting was not about blood, and pain directly, my cutting was about dealing with being and feeling totally helpless and out of control with surroundings, people places and things. Giving so much power to those who I allowed to live rent free up in my head. Still try not to allow this; not arrived - I just cut myself up so badly, that finally I moved into other self-destructive means of - survival (dichotomy for sure). Prior to cutting up my arms, I was deep slitting on my wrists; my scars are beautiful to me sometimes, other times reminders of nearly insufferable pain.Congrats!
