Career change?

Hello forum,

I'm thinking about moving out of the Styx and starting a new career. Guiding passed souls just no longer seems to enliven me. The only item on my resume is "Grim Reaper," though. It just feels like there's nothing else out there for me. Plus, no one wants to rent to Death or live next door, etc.

I'm really struggling with what my next move will be.

Can you guys think of a career I might excel at?

PS my skills include counseling ghosts, guiding spirits, and being a total buzz kill. Oh! I'm really good at impressing people with my fashion sense during Halloween, Day of the Dead, and the like. People at death metal concerts totally dig my threads.

That's brilliant. I know all about funerals! Really, the souls I work with? They're always commenting on what they would have personally done differently for their services.

I wonder if you need a degree for grief counseling. Luckily I'm fluent in every language, so really I could shop the global university market if necessary. I hear Switzerland is up my alley--frosty and peaceful.

Write a book. A program (National Geographic series Year One Million) I watched just last night was discussing Artificial Intelligence, technological advances and "futurists" and "post humanists" are engaged in how to upload the brain and abandon our bodies... some really way out stuff. How do you Death, think that human beings who may seek immortality by uploading their brains into a net cloud to avoid physical death would affect your business? What would happen to those "souls", since no one has ever actually found a soul... I don't expect it would be uploaded with the brain.

Personally, I think Death would make a great children's party planner. You could even do ventriloquist acts. It would be a hoot but I think someone else would have to do the balloon animals

@The Albatross If some mortals wish to seek manmade immortality on earth, they're welcome to try. But I assure you I come bearing peace and rest to the weary, the righteous, the ignoble... all who meet me meet their rightful resting place sometime or another. One day the machines will fail, and Death will be there to lead every soul Onward. I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, though, so no book deals.

I was thinking...what about pest control? You'd probably be excellent for most gardens, if you could focus on the tomato bugs and steer away from the tomatoes themselves...

And I'm sure there are many individuals with mold and fungus problems in their houses/apartments who would pay good money to have that stuff eradicated.
