What do you do if you have a medication that achieve's one thing, but causes another.

I was thinking of Red with his fluid in his legs, maybe it's a medication that's causing it, but more so for me.

Avanza 30mg Solutab. It is a medication which gives me some sleep. It's never a full night, but I get at least six hours straight every 3 or 4 days. It's such a relief considering I went years on not many hours at a time. I know our body adapts, look at Einstein.
However; the side effects that affect me are 'Weight Gain' (it slows the metabolism) and fluid retention.

I would not worry, but the stupid 'Military Pride' comes to mind, pride in my appearance.

Also I have to look at the other side. I could be way worse off and have failed kidneys, or a failed liver, I could be a para or quadriplegic, or could be blind, or deaf (thanks Sarg for waking me up).
But what do we do. Stay of medication and have a reasonably fit body and be an arsehole who has had no sleep, is irritable and hard to live with, or be a nice a little bit cuddly person???

I suppose I will just have to live with having a bit extra to cuddle

I know how you feel Jimmy mate, soon as the belly starts to show I get real issues. I stopped taking my meds last week, and have allready lost 4 kgs. I have just started a new Med and was thinking about posting it as a diary here. Its slightly off beat as far as our usual meds go but if it works with out the side effects then maybe it will help a few others too.

Its TCM. all about the elements and getting you chi back in line. Hell if there is no lad chemicals involved then I need to try it.
