Silent Bob, American Army Iraq is not an introduction. This forum has been plagued by troll's and wannabe's.
Every other person provides some extra detail as a bit of proof, like the area they live now, and which unit you served with. Even if you were SF, you started somewhere.
Asking this is not a breech of privacy. Some forums ask for a real address and phone numbers and shit.

By not providing this you will just provoke people. You talk about this forum not being of use, then your eyes are glued shut.

I have already leant allot from using this website/forum, packed with info, which I am trying to make my lazy ass read more of. It has a nice vibe and I am very much a newbie enjoying what a community forum for fellow sufferers of combat ptsd, can actually bring to the game.

It's a genuine help

Maybe it was under estimated

........................... Angelsachse, already done, and still don't have services. Why didn't you read the first post? It is honest. Don't need an excuse. Don't lie, do not need to. If you just want to flame, why post in this thread? I have asked a question, that does not have anything to do, with VA services, why not answer the question? Privacy is privacy, and is not subject to your judgement.

You seriously think I can`t judge you? Realy?

You have no f*cking idea, the day you crossed my path gave me enough to judge.

But seeing as you have asked me to answer you original question from your first post that I (obviously) didn`t read, I will.

I cope with the Crazzies and crazy stuff by Getting of my f*cking arse and changing the predicament in which I am living and learnt to get off my arse and go to where the resources are to help me cope with the Crazzies.

Funnily enough, the VA offers lots of resources on coping with the Crazzies, and if you qualified you would have access to the resources for coping with the Crazzies.

Your lucky enough to live in a country that has a VA systeme in place, that allthough slow because it is clogged up with morons claiming that are not entitled to does get support to those that have earnt it.

Some of us live in countries that have nothing in place, but have still managed to get the help we need.

But as Privacy is Privacy I will not endeavour to ask why the VA will not facilitate you, and will just make the assumption your a Wanna be Combat Vet who has never actualy been any where or done anything to Qualify for support from the VA and is therefore not willing to post much info here on the forum, not out of Privacy but because you know damn well your talking out your arse and that the real Vets here will see through you.

Shit, there I go judging again and making assumptions.

I learned a loooooooooooooooooong time ago not to take no for an answer, especially from the VA. You've got to be relentless and f*&king annoying as hell if you hope to get any of the services that they have for us. They aren't and will never be easy or forthcoming with help. That's the reality of it.

I do know this; you can get help from a service org like the DAV online. They would help you with your problems with the VA, that's what they're there for. For every problem there's a solution or a way around the problem. It is always the responsibility of the person needing the services to do what's needed to get them.

One last time, Army veteran, Iraq, looking for ways to deal with, to cope with PTSD. You can believe me, or not. I'm not your friend. I will not respond to harassment, I've dealt with enough of it. I am not a troll, whatever that really is, nor spammer. I have asked a question, two of you have answered in an adult fashion, and one of you is off his meds. I do not understand why I should make myself available for you to insult, on a website that claims to be for and by veterans. The original post has nothing to do with the VA. Again, VA services are not in question, just not available here. I do not get to move, as I am broke. No where to go, no one to call. I am on my own, dealing with the issues, on my own. Due to the influx of dishonest, insulting, and harassing, posters, I'll ask this thread to be closed.

Have a read of the material on here, seriously; it will open your eyes to how you have been feeling/acting. The emphasis is all on combat/military life and it has given me a bit of 'fight' against my personal battle with combat ptsd.

The folk on here are clued up on it all, something I aspire to be like in a few years.

Just sit back and read if that's less of a dilemma.

Honestly, this can help you. Not good to sit alone and this site counteracts that.

This is two for two today... intimidating, threatening mannerism, bullying. Cut the shit or I have to remove you from the site. The member has clearly stated, Army, Iraq, equals veteran.

The laws of most countries are quite clear when it comes to bullying, even online. I must take action if it continues. Please desist immediately from such acts.

SilentBob,

In the Media section watch "You're Not in the Forces Now" it may be long but it is excellent!

Here are some links Jimmy recently suggested as a place to start to start your reserach:

This one will explain why when your tired or your stress levels are high you go off.

Go to the Articles section.

There are a lot of things you can do on your own, at home even:
  1. Exercise of course is highly important
  2. Guided Imagery (available thru iTunes, etc.)
  3. Yoga
  4. Deep Breathing/Relaxation alone
  5. Massage Therapy
  6. Music
  7. Art
  8. Writing/Journaling - It can feel good to just journal out a poem-like rant to purge anger and express it.
The others will likely have other ideas...

You can google/search PTSD and Guided Imagery to see many options:
For example, this is the one I went with because it was part of my treatment at Walter Reed Med Ctr:
http://www.healthjourneys.com/MilitaryMainCategory.aspx

Most of it is by design, is very calming but just a word of CAUTION about doing guided imagery alone, READ the descriptions carefully. There are some intense guided imagery stuff that designed to confront your demons head-on. It can be a bit overwhelming if you don't have someone there...panic attack over whelming. You don't want to be alone for that and a good description will provide a disclaimer along those lines.

Also, if you have a spouse/significant other sitting next to you during the seesion it gives them a chance to be part of your journey and gain some more insight to the beast.

Good luck...stay safe, stay strong

Thanks, Col-A. I don't have access to a library, or online purchase, for the books. Just what I can find, on the net.
