SheilaKathy and I used to participate in Happiness Challenges, which were started by The Albatross. They were based on the Happiness Factor by Shaun Achor. Here is the link to his TED talk: The happy secret to better work
Don't mind the title, it is about how you can rewire your brain to see happiness instead of negativity. All you need to do to participate, is do these 5 things every day for 21 days, and report on it in the private thread:
1. Write down three new things you are grateful for each day.
2. Journal about a positive experience experience in the last 24 hours.
3. Exercise
4. Meditation
5. A random act of kindness towards others.
Exercise is anything you can manage that is outside your normal routine, meditation can be Bible reading, knitting, coloring, or actual meditation.
I did this challenge 4 times in the past, and it really changed how I view my world. I continued to heal after the challenges, because I continued to do random acts of kindness, and continued exercise and meditation and gratefulness. SheilaKathy had a great time doing these challenges also. She still gets into noting things to be grateful for, random acts of kindness and even has found some of the things she learned in these challenges to be helpful in her new job.
This is a simple thing that doesn't take a lot of time, but results in huge gains. Won't you join us? We are starting August 21st, a Monday. If you would like to join, let me know in this thread and I will add your name to the private conversation.
