ugh -- fireworks are legal here tonight -- which means doggie downers for poor service dog. He does really well at first but they go on for hours and eventually stress him out...... On a happier note -- 24 hours of the Twilight Zone!

I hate fireworks too. I've heard they make hearing protectors for dogs, probably late for this year but maybe you can get your pup some for next year.

Well, happy new year from here, I guess! I want to be optimistic and I want to cry at the same time. It's been harsh year, and I'm only wishing for a better year next year. I really want to skip to february, possibly. I'm off to try sleeping.

I kinda feel like chiming in on this one. NYE is the anniversary of a very dear friend's suicide. I woke up to nightmares this morning, and have been extremely depressed and tearful all day. I know why, so I just let the emotions flow, and know that things will be better tomorrow, but it sucks when my roommate has all kinds of family over tonight, and I haven't even bothered to shower today, so I'm hiding in my basement apartment. I don't want to socialize, I just want to hold my dogs and cry, but my dogs are in another state with my parents so I can't even do that.

Just checking back in. It hit me about an hour ago that I leave in three days for inpatient and I have been wanting to crawl out of my skin ever since. My son is going to a bowling party with friends which leaves me alone tonight. I hate this 36-48 hour period every year.

I'll be here for awhile. I will not be staying up until midnight. I am an early morning person, so as you can imagine, I do not stay up late! I get cranky like a kid who needs a nap if I have to stay up even until like 9PM. Thanks for the thread though. It is fun.

I generally stay up super late have been up all night and gone on an hour of sleep but I almost want to sleep early tonight so I can sleep through New Years lol :p

My sentiments exactly! Combined with the fact that this time of year inevitably makes me think about people who are no longer around and I really miss. It's easier to ignore all that the rest of the year.

Yeah :( have 2 people who were close to me who passed on New Years it’s rough. Also makes me feel depressed thinking of going through another year :cry:
