Do you mention it when you are not x, what ever x may be

So I talked about royalty in the other thread and I am not royality but thought people might get...
What if the person did indeed go to Harvard? Does anyone expect that? Are you supposed to mention it, if you have, and if so, when and where and to who? Because it's totally obnoxious but it happens, sometimes on purpose and sometimes by mistake. In case you ARE royalty or did attend an Ivy League university - Do you mention it?

I think I would mention it (unless there were reasons not to mention). So let‘s assume I graduated from Harvard (which I did not do, but let’s assume it for a moment).

Example of when I would not mention it:
Person I am talking to: “I dropped out of school“
Me: “Oh, really? In that case I have a much better education because I went to Harvard... so you better realize I am much smarter“
That would be rude.

Example of when I would mention it:
Person I am talking to: “I have heard that in Harvard students spend a lot of Time getting wasted“
Me: “Well, I graduated from Harvard and I can tell you it is true/untrue“

Another example when I would mention it:
Person I am talking to talks about biology, I mention something I have learned about the subject.
Person I am talking to: “Where did you learn about this?“
Me: “I went to Harvard“

Why do you ask this as a guest?
