Panic attack as i fall asleep

You need to see a sleep specialist. There may be physical things going on too, have you considered one of the drugs to help nightmares. They have found that some blood pressure pills work and you need the sleep now. You don't withdraw from them and you don't have to take them forever, but it would be so helpful overall to have restful sleep, which is kind of hard to get with active symptoms. There are also some lucid dreaming techniques that are helpful, maybe your therapist knows about these. I'm sorry you are going through all this. It is not an easy life, and it wasn't your fault. Only you can make it better.

I actually cannot take the blood pressure meds for this as my blood pressure is dangerously low and I"m super thin.
I wish there was a magical pill!
Mostly when I post on here it's so that I can reassure my heart that I'm not crazy. That this is normal for PTSD and that I'm not alone.
The hardest thing is feeling insane and alone with this whole mess.
Thank you.

You aren't alone, nor are you crazy. This has been done to you. You didn't choose it. I really hope you can get some rest. It will ease up, but you are going through the worst part now. We're here to listen.

Thank you.
I wish there was a place that listed ALL the symptoms of PTSD so I could just see them and know it's PTSD.
It's so hard not having that because I google the symptoms and then become terrified.
Thank you again for your support and help.

I just realized that what these panic attacks in my sleep might be are night terrors. Because I often kick and scream and have horrific visions/vivid "dreams" that are beyond terrifying.
It's helpful for me to know this information. It helps me to not feel crazy.

Another update on my sleep thing. I need to see a sleep specialist. I'm just afraid. I have been since the day this all began. I'm terrified.
I asked my husband to watch me fall asleep tonight and see if he notices anything and he said he thought I stop breathing or held my breath just before I kicked my legs. I wonder if I am having sleep apnea and kicking and feeling terror because my body is trying to wake me. It happens nonstop. I will close my eyes to sleep and only sleep for 1-2 minutes and then BAM. It's so exhausting and does not help my phobia of being insane!

If it is sleep apnea, a Cpap is a wonderful thing. I couldn't wait to get mine! I no longer needed to nap anymore! It really helps the physical aspect of sleep!
