@Friday wiki's right, it's regional.though not only that - a bacon butty is a bacon sandwichd between slices of bread. A Bap is like a dinner roll. I think Butty is a term used through more places in the UK to mean Sandwich. Where a dinner roll seems to have far more regional differences in name. So I grew up calling that a bacon roll. But have moved around the UK, and liked the term bap most and kept it. Appropriated it if you like. Other terms are Barm cakes - or where my Dad and Grandparents are from it's a batch. And so on :)

Ooh also, baps or whichever regional name you use, wouldn't necessarily be brown bread, far more often white but I rarely eat white meself

Most of my childhood in SE Asia... summers in the States... bits and pieces in the EU, mostly UK and banking holiday day trips (you know we don’t have those here??? It’s just wrong.). Adulthood I’ve bounced around between US, Eastern EU, proper EU, Latin America. A few jaunts back in SE Asia. A lil bit in the Middle East. Been stuck in this godforsaken drippy forest for too long (Pacifc Northwest, US... makes Edinburgh look balmy, I’ve got a brother in the North, we compete for crap weather ;) Literally. We compare Met reports! As well as personal feeling. I think he may win this year, we’ve had more sun than I can remember. Also, I’ve taken up drinking. Pubs abound where he lives, but here it’s all coffee. I’m not exactly sure the reasoning behind being more awake in the gloom. Drinking -not coffee- helps with the perpetual grey damp sloshyness of it all.) but that was just bad planning on my part. Marrying an asshole is bad enough, but divorcing one ties you there until your kids are 18.

Still haven’t found “home” yet :p

Hawaii & Malta have come close, though.

Kinda makes me think of the nordic countries for some reason, or Seattle. Had no idea you were so north. For some reason thought you were in Hawaii!

P.s. couldn't help but guffaw. Most northerly I've lived is Yorkshire, nowt in comparison, tho I've never been so thoroughly wet so often. Such frequent eye burn from mascara in the eyes!
