I just think giving them away would be more appropriate.

^Maybe not. Maybe if you placed a small monetary cost on them the public would a) think it was for real & want them b) look after them a whole lot better than if you're just giving them away like surplus?

There's no reason for people to keep panic buying like they are, it was ridiculous on day 1, it's beyond reproach now.

^There is if people are storing the goods to sell on later. A customer service operator told me that they have notified the police of customers (soon to be called criminals) who are breaching the one packet policy here, returning multiple times to buy the one item. They know they will try to sell them on when and if the item becomes scarce.

I'd suggest waiting a week, and things may be easier to navigate with greater safety and less people. That is the whole point of all the shutdowns in the first place: to get to a place of greater safety and less people out and about.

Yeah. Im doing so. I have gas but soon my tank will be empty so been going by the gas station next to my house to check to ensure there is still gas and if the stations are still open (which is how I saw the guy filling up several what looked like 5 gallon gas containers which made me scared we would run out of gas like when a hurricane is coming). There is gas and people are there. Didnt see if the actual station is open and cant pay at the pump at the small station by my house as my card info has been stolen twice there and my dad's once at the same station. But can go to a bigger one down the street and pay at the pump. Just dont wanna run out of gas and then not be able to find gas. Id be f*cked. But I have a bit less then three 4th of a tank and so I think I can probably last until Wed, my next day off, and then can go find a station that I can pay at the pump.

No one has given me access issues with my service dog yet. Which I expected. That said, no one seems to be less hand off with him either. Just as many want to come up and pet him. Go away people! Distance! Seriously!

It's in the compulsive-obsessive category, so yeah, the more aware you are of it and force try to stop it, the harder it'll become.

Found this out today! The more I tried to stop touching my face the more my nose itched then my eye, then my cheek and UGH! Been using my sleeve the most I can. I know I am supposed to not touch my face but how do you not scratch an itch? Ugh!

New blood tests for antibodies could show true scale of coronavirus pandemic

I genuinely hope we'll be getting antibody tests soon. It's extremely important to get a good sense of how many people were asymptomatic or only had mild symptoms (and hence weren't tested for COVID-19), not only to get a general better sense of infection, but also crucially important for interacting with family and friends - it would be nice to know if you're "safe again" to be among people for example.

From the Link above:
Krammer says he and his colleagues are already using their test in their New York City hospital to better understand how quickly COVID-19 patients start to develop antibodies to the virus. In the future, it could also help identify recovered patients who could then donate their SARS-CoV-2 antibody-rich serum to help treat critically ill patients. Another key application, Krammer says, would be to identify people who have developed likely immunity to the virus. They might be able to treat patients safely or take on other front-line jobs during the pandemic.

From @Deanna's link, above:
LFS, you have maybe four cups of bleach - lets err on the side of caution and say 3 cups. From that, you could make 9 gallons of disinfectant. I'd say you're completely set for bleach for quite a bit. Especially since you also have soap.

So, I know I had measuring spoons but I think my dad took them when he left so I used the only teaspoon/tablespoon thing I have. Google says 1 tablespoon is 3 teapsoons and I needed 4 teaspoons for a 32 ounce spray bottle that I found under the sink that works (have no idea what was in it. It had no smell and it was bought as just a spray bottle per the side of it. A garden spray bottle so poured that out to use the spray bottle. The one I use for cleaning leaks and thats annoying).

Anyway, 32 ounces is a quart. Needed 4 teaspoons of bleach for a quart but the only thing on the one measuring spoon I have is 1/4 teaspoon on one side (which is tiny and it would be hard to measure that out using that) and 1/2 tablespoon on the other side. 1 tablespoon is 3 teaspoons and couldn't figure out how to divide that last teaspoon and didn't want to use the 1/4 side cause its super tiny so used three 1/2 teaspoons. I know 2 of those is 3 teaspoon so one of them is 1 and 1/2 teaspoon? So, I used 4 and a half teaspoons to one quart, it seems. But, yeah. Enough bleach though.

So, got that. That lysol is almost gone. But using it every other day or so to try to make it last but now that I have that bleach solution and know how to make it, I think I will be ok.

There seems to be maybe just a cup, maybe 2 left in that bleach container but it will last for a while only using 4 teaspoons (or 4 and a half) at a time. And a quart will last a while. I can spray that everyday and it will last a while. So, got me some disinfectant. Yay!

scared we would run out of gas like when a hurricane is coming
This shouldn't happen. But then, we shouldn't have run out of toilet paper either.

Actually, while all this epidemic stuff is going on, Russia and Saudi Arabia are engaged in an oil price war and oil prices are lower than they've been in years. Demand is way down too, of course. There should be no shortage of gasoline. When you have a hurricane, the stations run out of gas because the roads are impassible etc. And people panic buy too. Shouldn't be a problem with this. But, I got that phone call yesterday, from Florida, telling me that marshal law was being declared.... Maybe the guy you saw at the gas station gets his news from the same place her husband does.

Having said all that, all things considered, this probably isn't a great time to be running your car on fumes. If you keep it at least half full, that's one less thing to worry about.
