I have been trying to find a health insurance plan on the marketplace. It has to be decided very soon. I was reading the fine print on the one that my therapist is on and it says that after 30 sessions I would have to get approved for more. This led me down an anxiety rabbit hole that they will know all of my details or possibly not approve me. I have been with my therapist for 4 years for c-ptsd. Every so often I think that my sessions may space out, eventually leading to my success in healing. However, the thoughts about insurance being involved is terrifying to me. Also, I have about 6 sessions a month and I can’t imagine going less than weekly on a regular basis.
How much will the insurance company know? Do they typically approve more sessions after the initial ones? Will they make me see someone else? It took me four years to get to a trusted place of actually telling her things and looking at her instead of her feet. What are your insurance experiences?
