You Know You Have PTSD When...

The reality being really bad still can't snap you into action if you are in freeze mode. Because the way you feel and what you remember is so much more vivid than anything else.
Your sense of time getting so fractured that intense life situations keep creating new ripples of mini traumas that warp your perspective like a mug which once cracked keeps breaking apart easier.

I have the freeze response as well and this is pretty much my life to a T at this moment. I've read that freeze response is the hardest to treat.

I am 99% sure I’m not cooking anything.

And still check the stove. And may find it cold for days, or all burners in use.
Something of a parallel...

I finally got my wife to quit asking when I am cooking because:
- no I don't remember what I am looking for.
- no I don't know what I am making. (which is why I don't know what I am looking for)
- yes the stove (cooker) is on for a reason if there is a pot or pan on it, even if I don't remember what it is.
- have a "kitchen checklist" stove off, oven off, toaster oven off, music off, Fridge and (that other thing like a closet for food) closed, tap not running,

When prospects of getting better in any shape or form appear ugly, embarrassing, or undesirable because your abusers would repeatedly shame you for it.
When certain rooms in your house are barely enterable due to hoarding.
When you get an uncontrollable rush of uncomfortable thoughts, images, memories and sounds in general from the past in your head whenever particularly stressed.
When you're afraid to make relationships with others, let alone speak to or even be around anyone at all, because of an inferiority complex.
When you're pretty much constantly confused about pretty much everything.

You go at your childhood home but can't go inside because it's not yours anymore. You only feel very bad being there like you never were happy there. You wishe you can enter because you never felt at home since you left this place.
