Does Anyone Fantasise to protect themselve?

yes, i created a place in my own head which i dedicate time to for the majority of time because i still haven't moved out yet. in it, i am happy, even if i won't ever be able to get there in the general understanding of participation
 
When I was scared, I would dream up different solutions to solve or survive the situation. I think that is a little bit of optimism in a negative situation and perhaps resilience. It just made me feel safer in the moment. I enjoyed story writing in my own head growing up, as the stories were my play - didn't have lots of toys and didn't watch a lot of TV. So that was as entertainment and escape. I would like to write a book, and I always wished that I wrote the stories down. I am trying to now, but my motivation is low. I'm too sad now, I guess.

When you write them down, they go away. Which DOES create space for new stories, but every author I personally know? Doesn’t write down some stories. Because they’re theirs. Precious. That they wish to keep. OTHER stories they’re willing to subject to the editing/publishing crucible. But not the best ones.

I'd like to tell mine regardless. It's just motivation and belief systems standing in the way. I want her to know, that I did not remain silent.

I bolded the last part… just as a reminder that when you DGAF anymore about what your abuser thinks/feels? Instead of living your life trying to anticipate/make them think/feel ABC-XYZ? What do they think,what do they feel, what do they think, what do they feel, them, them, them, them… ALL. ABOUT. THEM. ? You can do you, instead. And that’s worth celebrating.
 
Maladaptive Daydreaming is what you're referring to I believe. It's a coping mechanism. It used to be my number one when I was a child and now it's reading or rabbit holes.
