How Do You Get Out Of Bed? What Works For You?

Two questions in one night, I'm terrible!
I find it really hard to get out of bed. One thing that works for me is writing "GET UP" all over my arm.
It usually works when I need it to. How do you do it? I don't know what it is that makes it so hard to get out of bed.

I used to even write a Macbeth quote! "Arm, arm and out!" (Act 5 Scene 5)

I have a really loud, really annoying alarm clock. It's clear across the room, so I have to get up to shut it off. (When the clock was next to the bed, I either shut it off and went back to sleep or threw it across the room and went back to sleep.) Some days, I'm already "not sleeping" so getting up is kind of a relief.

In a bad stretch...

If I don't have an external reason? I sleep until I wake up. Which can be 20 minutes or 20 hours. And I never really know which. Then I stay awake until I can sleep. Which is anywhere from 'must pee' to 2 or 3 days later. Ironically, I'll often catnap for a week or so... But the up to pee and back to bed is usually after I've already slept a whole day gone. It's feast or famine when I'm in a bad run.

If I have an external reason, I play music for 1-2 hours before I need to be awake. That's how long it takes me to surface. Then it takes me about 3 hours after I get up to be really "awake" and with it. I'm walking, talking, driving, etc. but I'm a robot. My brain may be working, but my mind doesn't catch up for a few hours.

If there's an emergency? I'm up in seconds. Standing before I really know what's going on, and moving / alert / awake almost in the same breath. I can maintain this for months before I start to burn out. But once I start to burn out I need a few weeks of mostly sleeping before I'm able to BangAwake.

In a good stretch...

It's simple. I set my alarm for an hour ahead. Music plays. I wake, shower, workout, shower, dress. I still need an hour of music (or BangAwake)... But the uncertainty, and wild fluctuations are nonexistent.

I am modifying this to be placed under my foam mattress and aim it towards my door! MINCT_Mini_Catapult.webp Wish me luck!:clown:

I have M.E and Fibromyalgia so if I don't get out of bed to get my pain killers in the morning, I really suffer. That and I have to feed my 2 cats and dog. Days like today though I do all those things and get straight back into bed. So it doesn't always work lol. But if I didn't have external reasons I would never get out of bed.

Haha actually loling at some of these responses. My worst habit was that I used to SH in order to get myself out of bed, which I don't do anymore. Now I sleep in a lot and end up either being late for things or even having to get a taxi on Hailo if it's something urgent. Does this improve with time? Like I suppose I'm only really after getting into therapy in the last few weeks. Is it possible to get out of bed after getting eight hours sleep? Only a few years ago I used to get up every day at 6:30 without fail, now that would be extremely difficult.
