Being Physically Sick Is A Drag!

I posted the following notice on my timeline on Facebook. Now let's see who my real friends are!

"I'm home bound, lonely and sad. Being sick for so long, like 2-3 months now, is a drag. I didn't take care to stay at home and take care of myself when I got the pleurisy. That was a huge mistake. I should have. So I am staying home now, taking care of myself and resting a bit here and there, mostly just taking it easy, because of this infection. I wish someone would come and visit me. Someone who is healthy and not carrying any germs. My immune system is very weak, so this is important. What about you? Do you have the time to keep me company for awhile?"

Any of you ever been home bound because of physical illness? What did you do to keep from going crazy?

I am home bound now too @SheilaKathy , as I food poisoning.

I would love a home visit as my husband who is the one with PTSD does not know what to do so goes out most days to his friend or to the pub.

Thats bold to ask so I give you a lot of credit for putting it out there.

I have been ill for over 3 years now chased everyone away as I will NEVER get better. I have a few people willing to hold my pain but it is unbearable for most so I don't blame them. I play games, listen to books on tape watch movies and train my dog. I sleep a lot.

I've been sick my whole life but it started getting worse when I turned 19. My pain has been getting bad as the years go on so I can't do a lot anymore. So I just listen to music a lot or color something.

not carrying any germs. My immune system is very weak, so this is important.

Got this nasty virus that left me basically stuck in apartment. It also weakens your immune system so I don't want to even try to be around people. Doctor can't even say how many months for a full recovery. It's kinda scary.

One person online told me it took her friend a year to make a full recovery. I just want my immune system restored so I can get out of my apartment, and try to enjoy life some. It's really not healthy for me to be stuck in here. (getting out now is grocery store, and visits to lab for blood test.)

I stay sane knowing that once I am recovered I can become an active person again. Normally my immune system is very strong.

Not going crazy... Sometimes mostly in bed in recovery. Other times on this forum. Other times just TV. Got tired of all the politics on Facebook from extended family.

Ah, bless you @SheilaKathy...so sorry to hear that you're feeling so poorly and lonely. It's so tough when you just keep getting one thing after another. I hope one (or more!) of your Facebook friends are able to pay you a visit soon.

I will not (hopefully) be sick for a year or anything. I finish this course of antibiotics on Thursday. After that , maybe in a week, I think I'll be able to go out. I cannot imagine being home bound for the rest of one's life or even for a year! How sad and tragic. I feel for all of you. You have it worse than I do! Much worse.

I'm fairly self entertaining, so not having that problem.

But if anyone has ideas how to completely shut off inner chatter & similar phenomena that don't require inflicting anything painful on one's body that would be grand.

(Or: actually not complaining, pretty happy with the state of things. As for advice, I'd simply say do what you didn't have time for when you weren't sick, if you can do any of that. There tends to be little something after a time of being physically active & moving round.)
