I wanted to share this with you all after the tough time I have medically had of late impacting on my work..... it made me cry.....actually sob as I feel like I have been through the wringer and back.

Nicolette, (I still want to shorten your name so I’m going to give you a nickname),

From the day you walked into my office, I felt a huge sense of satisfaction. After so many years spent in the dark being misguided by Rxxxxxx and also Cxxxxx before him, it was an absolute relief to have someone as passionate and most importantly thorough, as you are, take control of the mess I was left in. You could not possibly understand how frustrating it was having Rxxxxxx work on my books, but to then be blessed with someone so passionate about their work as you are, is far more than I could ever have wished for.

When the ATO tells you that “your clients are so lucky to have you” I think to myself if only they knew how much of an understatement that is. Your knowledge of all things bookkeeping, and your dedication to all of us whilst you battle through your current health challenges, is something to be admired.

You deserve to be given special consideration by the tax department, and definitely don’t deserve to be dealing with what you currently have in front of you. I only wish I could take it away from you, so you could get on with your life.

I am constantly telling my girls, it doesn’t matter what you choose to do in life, the most important thing is try and be the best at it. No better example could I give them than you Nicolette. You seem to be a perfectionist in all things you do, and I can’t tell you how much I admire you for being that way. Imagine how wonderful this world would be if we all took a leaf out of your book. People would not take short cuts just to get the job looking like its finished in order to be paid, they would take responsibility for their actions, instead of hiding behind others, and perhaps the younger generations would learn that nothing in life is handed to you on a platter. Hard work and dedication, although its such a cliché, are truly the only way to be successful in this world, and you epitomize that. All power to you.

Thank you for your dedication to my business. I am so grateful to have you on my team.

Richard.

WOW! Good for you! In all my years as an employee, I've never had someone take the time to write something like that for me. Sounds like you blew his socks off - and now he knows what we know around here. How special you really are. :D:):inlove::laugh::x3: That's the kind of thing you keep nearby to look over again when you're having a rough time.

How's the medical stuff going these days, Nicolette? PM me if you don't want to answer here.

Congrats - I bet that made you feel really great.

Thanks ClairBear. I ended up with another infection on Friday so I'm frustrated and so tired and exhausted. I had deadlines to meet and today they were extended so I didn't have so much stress. Then a client sent me this..... I'm still sobbing.

The heart wrenching part is I felt my family never saw the good in me and for a man to consider me as a good example to his daughters just tears at my heart strings and makes me feel more worthwhile.

Roger that. Black sheep of the family here. I've worked as a hospice nurse for 12 years, and don't get a lick of credit for being a good or kind person with my family. It makes it really weird any time I get anything complimentary - like I'm not programmed to accept anything I hear that's good as being the truth. I bet it's really nice to hear just the right thing at the right time. I kinda expect "Richard", whoever he may be, has a big hug coming his way. :) Feel better soon. (((HUGS)))

 but in a good way. That was so beautiful Nicolette and i know you deserve it. You have been through so much and yet continue to be there for others and are totally committed to your clients. That bit about his daughters is such a beautiful thing to say. Well done you. Keep that letter forever and look back on it if you ever feel the slightest bit negative about yourself.

congrats.gif
awesome award.webp

(((Nicolette))) that is wonderful for you. Print off some copies so you can always carry it with you. I have an affirmation book and it would defilitely go in there for me to read on the bad days.

The fact he took the time to do that, I am so proud for you.

I hope you start to feel better soon and the blasted infection clears up.

Take care
KP

Thanks everyone. I'm still running a fever ClairBear - it's my kidneys or bladder again...argh!
