Religious door knockers - did you ever wonder why they would come to your door? Why they would subject themselves to the abuse and ridicule from countless people? One asked me that. You might find their motivation interesting and encouraging, if not the message.

yup i know why they come to our door..and i do admit....they are wonderful peolpe..and they do knock on..'that door'..that someone really needed.......im sure there has been a hell of alot of lives saved by the door knockers.....ive had many a cups of tea/coffee with them.......i havent always been cheeky to them.........anyhoo

I just thought I would pop in to mention the best way to ensure you never get another Jehovah's Witness at your door. Tell them you are what they consider "an Apostate".
'Doesn't matter what country you are in, this will get them to remove your address, and/or phone number, from their lists forever.
Apostate means you were a JW, and have turned against the religion, and are now teaching others the flaws in the religion. They will literally run off your porch if you tell them you're Apostate, and never return.
(I know this because I used to be a JW, and have run from many a porch, then had to remove that address from the list.)

Oh, and congratulations Dave! It's great to hear of your progress.

Oh Amethist you crack me up, my ex was a pagan but that isn't why he is my ex. I wan tto say that every faith and releigion has bad eggs or demon seeds as I was myself called once by someone. It doesnt mean that all are bad, just like us with PTSD people sometimes give us short shift (or is it shrift-sorry I am not sure tonight- long few day)

Yup Dave, you bet your IMHO not so small victories are what healing makes real for us. We can be "inner munchkin gladiators" Noone sees the little step but us and then we discover that a nice normal conversation on your own porch can be a good experience. Hoohah for you.:Hug_emoticon:
