I matched an interest with a career. Psychology has always interested me but at a very amateurish level. It wasn't until this year that I discovered that I could do something with it but that is just me and my own circumstances. Right now I am studying at a higher level so really the same as 17 & 18 year olds are doing.
my friends wife is presumably studying at a higher level than I am but not for a career change. She is doing it as a hobby so maybe you could look at it that way instead. If you have a passion or strong interest in something then why not study it properly? All it is really doing is focusing your interests and giving you motivation to do what you enjoy anyway. It cant hurt to have a little dig around and see what you find

After so many things i google brought me here i decided i may as well join up!

I am struggling big...
Hey Bristol,
I think I understand a little bit how you are feeling. I stumbled across this website as well and figured, what could it hurt?
Therapy is tough. Its hard to dig in to tough subject matter with a stranger without the worry of judgment. I'm still working towards that, myself. It's a big step so be patient with yourself in knowing that you are headed in the right direction. One step at a time. I don't blame you for not wanting to put it all out there on your first post. I just posted for the first time, yesterday. It wasn't easy and I left out a lot of details. But just know, you aren't alone. Not ever. *hugs*

a therapist is supposed to be non-judgemental. I accept that people are judgements by nature but professional conduct dictates that therapists are not judgemental.
