I was on it for a little while, two months I think it was. I transitioned to another med during the discontinuation syndrome. So it's hard to say what was what med doing which.
I remember going blind for a while while starting it. Well, I could see, just not focus. It was like walking around without my glasses on. Only I did have them on and approaching something closely didn't make anything any clearer.
Oh, and vertigo with a nice helping of nausea. Headaches too, I remember that now that I think of it.
There was one other thing I'm rather hesitant to mention.
Sigh.... Umm... flatulence.
Excessive flatulence. Unfortunately odorous as well.
I can't believe I'm going to tell this story, but ok....
I rent a basement suite from a nice older couple who live upstairs. Well, during this changeover from Remeron to Effexor.
One morning the upstairs lady caught me at the door to ask if I was having an issue with the pipes, as she noticed the smell. (Oh good lord, why?)
I said no, which was true. But I didn't want to say that my digestive tract was the source of the unpleasantness. :poop:
A bit later she told me that she had called a plumber to check the sewer drain, that I would need to let him into my suite as the water system is on my floor. :wideeyed:
Not wanting to drag a stranger into this, I confessed it was me reacting to a medication.
She didn't believe me.
Sure enough, a couple hours later I had to walk a plumber i into the place to check the wrong pipe... :bag:
I wanted to be mad, I tried to be mad at her. But goddamnit! That was just too funny.
She did apologise later.
So yeah, that was my experience with Remeron. Never again.
:poop: :bag:  :roflmao:
