Do you think there are many individuals with undiagnosed ptsd out there... I know a guy and I do not know him very well who avoids all crowds such as public transport like the plague and told me he is afraid of becoming victim of a crime. I do not know his story... but I wondered if he has ptsd. I am just thinking about this because other people made fun of him and I thought it was mean...
My vet used to avoid public transport. He never told people he was afraid burin fact he was.
... and there are other people some I do not know well and some I know well and I wonder if they have ptsd. Did this happen to you because of your spouses ptsd? Are there really a lot of people with undiagnosed ptsd out there?

I can look back when I was in 12 steps, and see how many people I would now consider having PTSD. I sponsored a lot of women thru the years, a few stick out in my mind that absolutely fit the criteria.

Have they since found help? I don't know, but I hope so.

So, even if it's not PTSD, they do have a lot of un- diagnosed mental issues. It's a scary place, this world we live in today.
And it makes me a thousand times more grateful I have this place to come to, where people understand.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are several. Same goes for lots of injuries/illnesses. There’s a lot of people who either recognize what’s going on but don’t want to admit to it for tons of different reasons, or they play off each symptom as something else and don’t connect the dots.

Can I just say though, I’m genuinely pissed at those people for making fun of him? Not cool. Punch in the face worthy not cool and I’m not a violent person.

I would imagine there are, just like many other mental illnesses. Once I learned about the nuances of PTSD (and not just the "soldier flashback" variety), I realized that my dad probably had it, and I'm pretty sure my uncle has it. Both of them were/are undiagnosed.

But yeah, it wasn't until I really delved into research that I saw the patterns in other people around me, and realized that they had suffered from trauma, so it was possible.

Are there people with undiagnosed PTSD?
Yes, of course.

. I know a guy and I do not know him very well who avoids all crowds such as public transport like the plague and told me he is afraid of becoming victim of a crime.
He could have no mental health condition or one of many mental health conditions.

I caution against going around diagnosing people. When all one has is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail. Most people who survive severe trauma don’t develop PTSD and many people woh mental health problems don’t have PTSD.
