Geez, it sounds like they screwed up giving you all the info and really reacted very strongly to a naturally frustrated patient.
It really stinks that they never pursued your abusers. :(

Good idea to get a lawyer. Restraining orders show up on background checks and can affect employment. However, even if the order is lifted, they can still bar you as a patient for non-emergency care, and arrest you in the future for trespassing. A good lawyer might be able to negotiate a better resolution.

Three hours till my court hearing. I'm scared. Oh man. I have a lawyer. I hired a lawyer because my lawyer wants to go with the defense, "This is an idiotic accusation that has no basis in reality" and my shrink wants me to go with the, "I'm sorry I'm scary because I'm a crazy person" plan. I like my lawyer's plan a lot more.

My lawyer wants me to be indignant that such a baseless accusation was even made. I wonder if I have enough self righteousness for that? Whereas my shrink smirked and said, "I'm not surprised you scared someone like that."

I'm sorta wondering if it is time for a new shrink.

I was wondering that too, when I read what you wrote.

My T objects, usually rather strongly, to the use of the word "crazy" in this context. I'm with your lawyer. Invoke righteous indignation. The way you told the story here, it's an entirely appropriate response and I think it's the direction any "sane" person would take. Good luck!
