I found an article that might interest some of you:

Unfortunately it's not a scientific journal. Hope it is helpful any way. It's about some compounds of curry removing fearful memories.

I have some trouble with the link. There is an article in today's "Daily Mail" - "Could curry banish bad memories"

An indegrient called "tumeric" which seems to be part of the spice. I wish I could link. Can be found easily of you go to today's daily mail and search for "curry".

Alas... I have a 5lb/2ki bag of turmeric. I buy my spices from an Indian restaurant market by the kilo for pennies on the dollar ($80 buys over $1,000 worth of the same spices from the grocery store). Use turmeric not just for some curries but it's in a lot of Middle Eastern, & pacRim cooking... As well as a great coloring for frosting & other things needing yellow. So, anecdotally, no dice.

Would that it was that easy. I too cook with a lot of turmeric and Indian spices... for their anti-inflammatory properties. I have yet to find though that it is assistive with bad memories. My nights have been plagued with them for years when sleeping. Too bad there's no link to the article to see what they based the article on though.

I have a hard time believing turmeric can remove bad memories, or the entire population of India would be a lot happier! That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with trying though. It's an anti-inflammatory, good for all sorts of things from improving digestion to reducing the incidence of Alzheimer's.

This is for 'golden milk' and uses turmeric and coconut milk, cinnamon, cayenne and black pepper (all really good for different things). Not sure if anyone is interested but thought I would post just in case it would help anyone.

lol. this post is great for me today as pancreatitis is flaring up and I forgot about turmeric 'golden milk' for inflammation. Idk about memory loss but at this point it feels like nothing could hurt!

As far as the article in the Daily Mail goes, just google turmeric bad memories and you will notice other media outlets have picked up the story as well. Seems to be based on one story. As far as inflammation goes, I am going to make it now for my pancreatitis - will let you know if it helps.

We just had curry tonight for dinner. I make it about once a week. No effect that I've noticed. Today was a bad day and it's not getting any better.
