sadly that door swings both ways, i know i used to be cruel to civilians, just in general, until i drunkenly slice my hand open and my neighbor took me to the va, she stayed with me until i was released, and came to checked on me for days after..
the 2 worst instances of disrespect took place by brothers from my unit who came and visited. one when he was on leave 3 years ago, decides to make passes at my girlfriend the whole time he was here, conducting himself very inappropriately. she didnt tell me until after he left when he replied "my bad," and "at least it didnt go anywhere" i told him he was dead to me, and never to contact me again. the second offense happened from another friend, he just got through a divorce and wanted somewhere safe to chill, i understand, i was there once myself. when i picked him up there were 2 rules to follow, "dont f*ck with my girlfriend", and "dont drink my vertical epic 050505". simple rules he broke both, drank my beer id been holding on to for years, its not even supposed to be opened until december this year, i bought that after i got home, before my divorce wtf? something from before my life went completely to shit, to enjoy this year, it was a marker for me, i didnt think id make this long, and that piece of shit drank it. then after i told him we'd figure something out, he like a predator went after my lady, i threw him out, never spoke to him again, and this left me very distrustful of vets, both the ones i let into my home pulled the same shit, only the second time i was informed about it immediately and she went to stay at a friends until he was gone. the simple fact is the world is a slimy skeezy place and a lot of people you may think you know or trust are in fact creeps.
