So today is that day I moved out of my dorm to go home, and everything that could've gone wrong did go wrong.
I got up early to do a little more cleaning and move the rest of my stuff to storage. I went to go take out the garbage, and as I went to go back inside, I looked down and saw that my student ID and keys were gone! They had fallen off of the keychain I had around my neck! I looked for them frantically because you get fined $435 (no joke) if you lose them. But to no avail. That meant that I had to call my roomate, the only one left, and ask her to let me in. And boy was she mad as a hornet about that! As soon as she let me in she pointed out in her fury that I had accidently picked up her shampoo and conditioner and put it in my storage container. I didn't have time to run back to the container just for that, I was too busy looking for my keys. I gave her money to buy some new bottles, but she was still furious that I hadn't cleaned the bathroom adequately. Because of 1. my losing my keys and trying to find them and 2. my roomate detaining me in argument, I wasn't able to get the rest of my stuff in storage. Before I could the shuttle called to take me to the airport. My roomate accused me of being happy the shuttle had come because it got me out of cleaning. I was late to go meet the shuttle because of her bantering. I felt awful that my relationship with this roomate, that had been fairly civil up until then, ended on such a bad note.
I got to the airport and didn't have enough money to pay for all of my check in baggage ($20 dollars a bag apparently). The lady at the check in counter was kind enough to waive the fee for me, but I could tell she wasn't happy about it. This in turn caused me to just barely get there in time to get on the plane.
The whole time this is going on I'm frantically calling people. I'm calling our RA to explain that I lost my keys so I wasn't able to check out properly and tell him that any extra trash, dirt, or mess in the room was my fault since if there is extra mess and no one takes responsibility everybody gets billed. I'm already back in my home state and I still haven't gotten anyone to move the stuff I left back into the storage container. I did call the RA on duty and she said she could try to help once she left a graduation ceremony for her friend. Sheesh, I interrupted someone's special occasion for this. My last roomate has probably checked out by now so the RA will wonder what all the stuff sitting in the middle of the living room is.
So here I am, wondering if this could possible get any worse. I certainly hope not.
Sorry guys. I just needed to vent, big time.
