Current Weather

high fire danger and potential lightning, surrounded by acres of cut and raked red clover and grass seed fields! Glad to have our volunteer firefighters, hopefully they sleep well tonight.

The Aesir came visiting.

What kind of magic spell to use?
Slime or snails?
Or puppy dog tails?
THUNDER
OR LIGHTNING?

Oooooooh yeah. Thunder & Lightning. Boom bada boom. Big time.

A bolt of lightning hit the lake and vaporized IDFK how much water. 100% humidity until almost 24hrs later, when the winds came. The air was like soup. When humidity is in the 90s for normal? That’s reeeeeelly saying something.

Temp had already dropped 10 degrees every 10 minutes, for an hour. And then SPLASH. Like Shamu. SOAKED.

@Friday a gift from the neighbors to the south, although you got way more than us. Ours was Saturday, radar looked like a belt feed all afternoon, even when it was lifting it looked like we were the target here locally, cell after cell scored direct hits. I wondered if you would post about this, the image of you folks up north on radar last night was impressive!

As Robin Williams’ character Adrian Cronauer said in Good Morning Vietnam,
“It’s hotter than a snake’s ass in a wagon rut. Hot and shitty and more shitty to come.”

Raining melted slush & snow.

You can SEE snow about a thousand or 1500 feet (500 meters) up, blowing around, (the clouds are reeeeeally high, which is weird for the area; it can often be difficult to tell where the mist and fog end and clouds begin)…and there are occasional bouts of hail, as things melt/freeze/melt/freeze… but mostly? It’s melting all the way, on its way down. Splat.

So it smells like snow, but it ain’t gonna be snowing anytime soon. Just got some mountain weather caught on the winds.

Too warm for snow, but?

Tit bit nipply outside.
