We just got finished with Irene, now have the next one stuck only just slowly moving on. There hasn't been this kind of flooding since Agnes, in 1972. The schools are all closed here. Hershey, PA was on the national news with the anchor standing in front of Pizza Hut, or what's left of it above the window sills. It's BAD, whew! Our creek and pond have merged, even though they're a good 100 feet apart. There's only one road left passable to our house. The water is only a foot deep there, and my husband called to tell me if I go over onto the grass I should be able to creep through. Little worried about the hill behind the house- it's only just stopped pouring for the first time in 3 days solid. Steep hill ending right behind bedroom window, copious tall Hemlocks. If anything starts cracking, like the other day when 2 30 footers came down, we're outa here!
Just had a call from my husband. He had to turn around and come home before making it to work. The barricades went up. The Susquehanna is going higher than it has in over 35 years- this is going to get even worse.
