I think it would be better to wage 'freeze' some incomes. How come a CEO or CFO (Chief Executive Office, or Chief Financial officer) can make millions a year? Is anyone really worth that much? If the 'fat cats' so to speak were actually paying their dues than maybe we would all be living a better life.
Saying that families should not be double incomed when you may have two wage earners earning minimum wage and still not affording to buy decent food for their children does not work for me. I know too many people in that boat so to speak.
There are way too many people earning way too little money. If they boosted the minimum wage to one where one income could survive then it would make sense that people are able to stay home but only if they wish too. Nobody should be penalized from earning an income just because they are married or living with someone. Everyone needs to be independent of each other. My aunt was widowed with four children when her husband died of cancer. She almost lost everything because she stayed at home and did not work. She had the hardest time finding work after being out of the workforce for so long.
No easy answers but I think some people earn too much money in this world. Even principals (school) make over six figures. Nuts.
