Do You Think I'm Confusing Being Tired With Other Symptoms?

Thank you for all the Posts. Thank you @Ms Spock That's interesting because I have suffered from IBS for a long time, particularly the last few years, since everything else seemed to play up too. I will definitely look into it more.

@Anarchy Thanks for your reply. Yeah I'm narrowing it down at the moment. It seems to have been from when I was about 4 years old and then later on too. Yeah, therapy is kind of on/off too. I have gaps at time when I'm too busy. Also like you say it can be expensive and I can't afford to go continuously. It can be tiring. Sometimes I sleep really well after I've talked things out - better than I ever do. Sometimes it can just leave me wrecked. I've had a look into some meditations but tbh it's never something I stuck at properly. I might give it another try. And thanks - I've lived in a couple of different places too but I feel most at home in Ireland. The way of life and people are more easy going here. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Thanks @Justmehere Good to know I'm not just going mad or making problems where there are none. Sometimes I think I need to just suck it up and get on with thing. But then I do and I crash. It helps to know if there's a real explanation for it.

It could certainly be PTSD related, but what I kept wondering while reading was, have you considered food allergies? I know you've had lots of tests but that is something doctors don't often think to test for. Just a thought.

Has your T taught you how to catch dissociation? If you are night terroring during sleep you may be waking already dissociated which puts one behind the 8 ball all day long. Somatization disorder is something else I would read up on and ask my T about.

@sun seeker Thanks for your reply. I had food allergy tests done by my doctor about a year ago because of my stomach. I too had often wondered if I might be coeliac. Everything came back fine. He put my IBS down to stress but I do try and eat better too (like cut out processed foods, caffeine, etc). I also find that getting enough sleep - when I can, helps symptoms.

@shimmerz Thanks. We've talked about it a small bit but more catching it as it begins to happen rather than when it already has. I know what you mean, sometimes I wake up and my head is already muzzy and I don't feel in my body. I've never really known how to get out of it when I'm already there though, apart from ignore it and try and get on with my day regardless. We've talked about breathing, etc when I start panicking. I've got better at trying to relax - because before conventional ways of relaxing used to make me panic even more. I remember saying that to a friend before just as a passing comment, that I never really understood the difference between being relaxed and being tired. He thought I was mad haha. To me they were both the same - feeling like my body wasn't switched on and couldn't look after itself it just makes me uneasy. Thank you for the help

Man, I had forgotten about this. I remember people telling me to breathe and if I was able to I would go so deep. People didn't get it. Just breathing was a poor option for me at the time. It did pass. I will need to think about when and how. Thanks for this.

Yes. Like when someone tells me to relax, my jaw locks. I'm like fine I'll relax my body, but I think if anyone tries to touch me when I'm like this I might just punch them :-/. I wouldn't mean to, it's just a reflex that I can't help. "Relaxing" like most people do just puts me on edge even more.
