I have lived, tried to die, prayed for death and held on for dear life. That is what I seem to be doing right now. I leave in less than two weeks for River Oaks so I don't want to screw it up by giving in to the pain, sadness, memories, flashbacks and all around depression.

I am trying to believe that I will be better after inpatient. I guess I just wonder if the depression and suicidal ideation will be a constant companion or can I shake that unwanted friend.

It does change... we change, our brains change, and things do get better... none of us want to hear that it takes time... but you are hanging in there and giving your self a chance with inpatient treatment... Hope it helps, and you feel some shifts of things, and are able to not be so depressed and hurting.... it does change... hang in here... we got your back !!
