Eating, Not Eating, Gaining/losing Weight.

The wife would certainly shit when she saw me building a rectifier plant system to run some lights in the house.
 
I was up to about 255 two years ago. It was awful. Most I've weighed. I'm tall, but iv have a skinny frame. And all my weight is everywhere BUT my chicken legs. I don't know if I can post pics here, I'll try - if not you'll just have to take my word for it. I started eating smaller portions of food and training at a local martial arts gym. I only did what I could because my core was weak and I had major back surgery back in 2005. As I lost weight, I got stronger. I started CHANGING my diet at that point to healthy stuff I actually liked.

Eventually added in low weight/high rep weight training. Then yoga. Now that ve been doing this for around two years, I'm more fit than when I was in the Infantry. I weigh 185 now.

Also, I should add that the martial arts (what I'm able to do of it) is a great outlet for my anger. The yoga is a way to keep me centered.
 
awesome. i signed up for a beginners yoga class this winter. we'll see how it goes. people i talk to say that once you start doing yoga you wonder why you haven't always done it.
 
Good for you Stooty! To save my joints and address pain my goals are (usually beyond my reach): lotsa physical therapy stretching for core & back, yoga, elliptical or swimming, yard work, machines & light weights. Recently, I joined an over-50 basketball league which is a blast since I'm a young up there and exercise is much easier for me to motivate for when it involves competition. But I learned quickly, these older guys can shoot and play hard. I have to get recurring massages for pain & tension headaches.
