Fear of therapy ending?

Can you talk to your T about it? Mine gave me a years notice that she was going to be leaving - and while I'm panicking right now it gives us time to build a game plan.

If she denies that she is leaving anytime soon maybe you can make a back up plan for what to do if she gets hit by a bus or some such thing. I find having a plan in place always makes me feel better -- even if it's one I don't think I will use

That UK NHS therapy plan is horrible. Like, I think reviews would be good so they are sure the right treatment is being given to the right people.
But putting a cut off time without taking things into consideration is probably causing harm & possibly not cost effective in the long run.
Idk who thought that idea up but I think it is cruel really.

I think it depends, here in the UK therapy tends to end when a certain number of sessions have b...

And the problem with private is that many therapist charge around 40 an hour and have no actual training other than a course in how to listen to people, to be an accredited therapist you need very little to no knoweldge of psychology or mental illness. For this a psychologist is needed which at best is 200 an hour.

The whole system in the UK is a mess. How can a therapist help someone with PSTD when all they know is how to apply effective listening, yet many will say they are traning in that area because they read a chapter in a book about it.

Oh this UK system is screwed. Isn't there another thread on therapist that @digger started a few day's ago about therapist's & disclosure after we all got off topic from star76 Desperate... thread?
Have a look, but yes there seems to be some huge discrepancies in what constitutes & qualifies people in the field depending on what country you live in.
I reckon there need's to be a standard university qualification plus at least two year's clinical supervision by a pdoc & psychologist who have specialist qualification in PTSD.
Because who knows who
you are spilling your gut's out to?
