Fell The Other Night

I fell the other and slammed my face into my side table. I think I broke my nose or bruised it pretty good on the bridge because my whole left eye is swollen black and blue. My jaw doesn't hurt and my teeth aren't chipped or broken but it hurts to bite down. My husband came home just after and I think I was startled awake when the dogs jumped off the bed and I tried to get up but fell off instead.

I had taken some pain meds (but they were different from the kind I've taken in the past) and they put me out like crazy. I don't remember falling or my husband putting me back in bed. I've been barely able to wear my glasses since. so I just wanted to check in.

I'm upset at myself for not paying attention to the fact that I really cannot do meds I am not familiar with EVER, especially pain meds, and the price is usually I get hurt. I am afraid to see my tdoc - ashamed I guess, but mostly wanted to say what was going on with me. Miss you.

So sorry you are feeling so poorly. I think I understand the meds thing. I am really sensitive to meds. I hurt my neck a couple of weeks ago and had to take pain meds. They were not what I usually take and made me exceptionally dizzy and hallucinate. I thought the trees were chasing me. I was so hard on myself for taking new drugs. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Take care of yourself. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

It was an accident... they happen. I hope you didn't break your nose though. See a doc if you need to please? I understand though the feelings that come up when you may have done something that contributed to your accident... but try to resist it, sometimes life just happens.

hope you feel better soon.

Like the others said - just an accident. I have learnt that my sleeping meds make me very wobbly on my feet long before the sleepiness hits me. I started off taking then whilst downstairs, about 45 minutes before bedtime. But one night I fell going up stairs - not too much damage - but as the saying goes - we live and learn. I now get all ready for bed. Loo, PJ's, brush teeth, get into bed. Take medications, then read till I'm ready to sleep (normally 45-60 minutes). First and foremost it's safest, especially since I live alone), but I also have a great reason to go to bed early, and read. I've read so many cracking good books, since I've started this routine, which I really enjoy.

I'm just glad that hubby was there to help you back to bed. It might be worth getting your injuries checked out, if you are at all concerned. Take care
