Gaslighting by parents

Has anyone read any good/helpful articles or books about when parents gaslight their juvenile children while raising them?

I haven’t... but the reasons that jump out are

- They actually believe their kid is crazy
- They find it a useful tool to control them, particularly in a backdrop of abuse
- They’re using their kid as a weapon (still a control thing; of another parent, grandparent, school, etc. but the kid is “just” collateral damage in that battle)

Yeah, for the second reason is what I'm interested in reading about. It is just a confusing thing to experience so I was wondering if there was helpful information out there.

Not aware of books for specifically that...

But tangentially, you might look through books on manipulative parents & parenting?

Since figures there is quite an overlap / undermining reality is a type of manipulation.

This is classic. the fact you are aware of says a lot. You may be better off finding more books or articles around narcissistic parenting or codependency parenting. Good luck. It is dark hole to fall into.
